Gave my Midterm earlier this afternoon. I got a grand compliment when one guy, turning in his exam, asked me if I was teaching any mid-level courses this spring. I was slightly amazed, both that someone already had decided I was worth taking again, and because of the context of asking while I was terrifying them with my exam.

I just have not been able to keep up with my own life! I knew September would get crazy: the drive to the conclusion of the dissertation is ongoing, and starting to teach two full sections of Introduction To Theology with all its attendant grading was going to add enough to that full schedule. I've always been interested in the Jewishness of Christianity, finding that to be the route into Christian thought that makes the most sense. My Introduction to Christianity course reflects this, with the huge amount of space given to the Jewish scriptures in order to contextualize Christian writing and thinking.
